Osteopathy Manual Practice

Osteopathic Manual Therapy

Osteopathy uses the body's "self-springing" (tensegrity), balance and control mechanisms
to free one part of the body that will often relieve tension patterns elsewhere.
The underlying philosophy behind Manual Osteopathic Therapy;
Osteopathic Manual Practitioners seek to facilitate health
Osteopathy is a science that facilitates self-healing, through guiding the human body
to release tension restrictions
Osteopathy is a healing art, practiced through the practitioner's hands
Each person is treated as an individual situation
Minimal force, maximum precision

Therapeutic Taping

Therapeutic taping was developed by Dr. Kenzo Kase in the mid 1970's and is used to enhance athletic performance, pain management and overall healing.

We use taping based on the position of the body, the condition of a muscle, and percentage of stretch in the tape while applied. Therapeutic taping made its first major debut in the 2008 Bejing Olympics but is now used by professional athletes around the world.

In conjunction with Manual Osteopathic Therapy, Therapeutic Taping allows the body to hold onto the progress made during the treatment for longer. Taping an area of discomfort not only provides support, but increases blood flow and lymphatic drainage. Overall, it is an effective therapy for neuromuscular reeducation and pain relief.
